Fenriz enthuses, “‘Old Star’ – again we are here with THE RIFFS! A while after our previous Arctic Thunder album it became apparent that we would continue in that same style, BLACK OLD HEAVY METAL with slow thrash, classic doom and slow death metal. As many have focussed on the 70s sound over the last 20 years, the mix on our new album has ended up being more 80s than ever...

The classic grind sound began to show cracks on Terrifyer (2004) and Phantom Limb (2007), while the EP Natasha (2005) had already changed cou...

DISARRAY – Reunited, Recording New Music

Tennessee underground veterans, DISARRAY, have reunited to work on new material for the first time in over a decade.  A recent Facebook post on the official Disarray page showed guitarist / vocalist Charlie Bonnet III, bassist Vance Wright, and drummer Shane Harmon in a rehearsal room for the first time since 2005.  “Having fun with some old pals today…” wrote Bonnet on his personal Facebook page, to the shock and delight of long time fans. Formed in 1993, Disarray took the metal underground by storm, releasing two independent EPs, Widespread Human Disaster in 1995, and Bleed in 1996.

The buzz on these two releases caught the attention of Eclipse Records, who signed the band, releasing A Lesson In Respect in 1999, followed by the Dave Brockie (GWAR) produced In The Face Of...

PHILIP ANSELMO – More “White Power” Backlash

Two PHILIP ANSELMO & THE ILLEGALS concerts scheduled to take place in New Zealand this month have apparently been canceled. According to stuff, the cancelations stem from Anselmo’s 2016 “white power” incident, which is problematic in the wake of Friday’s NWO staged mosque terror attacks in the New Zealand city of Christchurch.

The shows were to take place on March 26 in Christchurch and March 27 in Auckland. The Auckland venue, Galatos, issued the following statement yesterday:

“Galatos will NOT be hosting this show in our venue on the above date. Just today, information has come to hand which has made us uncomfortable about proceeding with this show.”

Last year, a Nazi swastika was found suspiciously painted at Veterans Park in Arlington, Texas, directly across the street of...

SLIPKNOT – Chris Fehn Departs Band

You’re Fired!

In the wake of the accusations percussionist Chris Fehn leveled against SLIPKNOT last week, the band has now announced that Fehn is no longer a member of SLIPKNOT.

Here is their official statement:

“Slipknot’s focus is on making album #6, and our upcoming shows around the world, our best ever. Chris knows why he is no longer a part of Slipknot. We are disappointed that he chose to point fingers and manufacture claims, rather than doing what was necessary to continue to be a part of Slipknot. We would have preferred he not take the path that he has, but evolution in all things is a necessary part of this life.”

Come one, come all. We challenge you to All Out Life. You know we have always played for blood as well as you, our fans, have...

Tales Of The Undead: Who Are The Jinn? (Part 1)

Tales Of The Undead: Who Are The Jinn? (Part 1)

by Randy “Rocket” Cody

“He mixed (maraja) fire and plants, and the form of the jinn
appeared, an isthmus (barzakh) between two things:
between an embodied spirit located in the lowest and a spirit
without a “where”; That part of it which is corporealized (tajassum)
seeks food to eat, without dissembling,
while that part of it which is angelic
receives the ability to take on different appearances.
For this reason sometimes it obeys and sometimes it disobeys.”

Futūhāt al-Makkiyya, Chapter 9

‘The undead’, such as zombies, ghouls or vampires, are real...
