MÖTLEY CRÜE To End By 2032, Rumor Persists That John Corabi Will Return To Lineup

MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx was asked about the possibility of him and his bandmates writing and releasing new music by Brazil’s A Rádio Rock conducted this past December but only now uploaded to YouTube.

He replied: “We just did those four songs for ‘The Dirt’ soundtrack. We’re pretty much locked down right now. We’re having conversations beyond [2023]. So what’s ’24 look like for us in a touring capacity? As far as new music — I think new music always comes when the band is getting along. We get along so great right now. We’ve been having the best time. We spend time together. We go out to dinner.

Tommy [LeeMÖTLEY CRÜE drummer] just had his 60th-birthday party [last October] down in Mexico, and he invited a small group of his very good friends. And I was there, and a bunch of cool Tommy‘s friends. All of our wives were there. John 5 came in. And it was just cool to be able to not talk business, be in rehearsal, get on the phone, talk about the photo shoot or the video. It was just hanging out, walking on the beach. And we had some sweet conversations. Me and Tommy and Vince [NeilMÖTLEY CRÜE singer] had this conversation. I said, I go,’ What are you guys doing for the next eight years?’ And everybody’s laughing: ‘I don’t know.’ I said, ‘Why don’t we just keep going? Let’s just take it to 50 [years since the band’s inception, which will be in 2031].’

Is Crabs coming back to the Crue? Never say never.

All this being said this past December, a rumor persists that all is not going well inside Crue’s camp currently, since Vince Neil has continued on a downward spiral and was caught lip-syncing on at an Atlantic City, NJ gig last month in February.

Nikki Sixx covered up the purported firing of original Crue guitarist Mick Mars, confirmed by John Corabi who said Mars has not actually appeared on a full length Crue album since 1989’s “Dr. Feelgood.”

Corabi filed a 4-million-dollar lawsuit against his former band, claiming he wrote and performed all the guitars for the band’s albums after that, along with ghost guitarist DJ Ashba (who did the work on The Dirt songs not Mars according to Crabs), including the album after Corabi left the band that included Vince Neil’s return on a Crue album.

Word coming from inside Crue’s camp right now is that Sixx has big problems going on with Neil because the rotund singer continues to drink so heavily right now that he cannot sing live without the aid of a backing track.

There are 2 unfinished Crue songs written by ex-Crue singer John Corabi, that have long been speculated to make what will potentially be the final album by the band, who has not released a new studio album in 15 years, the longest dry spell by any band that is currently touring in rock music.

TMD broke the story last year that continuation to the last studio album, titled “Return of The Saints” will indeed feature songs credited to both Corabi and Ashba.

Corabi confirmed that there were two songs but he set the record straight on Bob Rock’s involvement. He said, “No, Bob never. Now, he may have been involved after I left but all the songs were written by me, Tommy [Lee], Nikki [Sixx] and Mick [Mars].”

He explained, “There is a song called ‘The Year I Lived A Day.’ And then ‘La Dolce Vita’ was just means the sweet life and we wrote that one. That was just jamming. And again, it was just like ‘La Dolce Vita’ was. It was an odd tune. If this even remotely makes any sense to anybody, it was ‘No Quarter’ by Led Zeppelin meets something from ‘Dark Side of The Moon’, Pink Floyd meets Motley Crue, if that came in.

“It was just like this, literally seven minutes song that had all these volumes changes. It was really mellow and it would get really heavy, and then it would come back down again.

“And then it would go to the left and it would you know, guitar riffing, and then come back down again, and then back up and it was like this really long, epic…”.

He was asked what happened to the tracks and he responded, “When I left, I turned in all my tapes and everything to the band, and that was that.” Stream the full episode here.
