NAPALM DEATH vocalist Mark “Barney” Greenway hurt his right ankle at a show on their “Campaign For Musical Destruction 2023” European tour in Munich, Germany on February 19. Since then he’s been playing the rest of the shows sitting down on a chair at the front of the stage.
Greenway talked about his latest injury during their Paris concert on February 26, a full video of which can be seen below. He also explains that Shane the bassist had an “emergency” also and that is why they only played as a 3 piece.
Here is what Barney said:
“[I] broke an ankle on stage in Munich seven nights ago. So I’ve got another five fucking weeks in this thing, but I’m gonna make the fucking most of it.
Needless to say, there may have been an option for me to not do the gigs, but that is not what I do or what I don’t do. I wanted to go [and play the gigs], and that is it.”
