MÖTLEY CRÜE was once called the Most Dangerous Band in Rock n Roll, but after a decade and a half of inactivity passed by, with no new studio albums released since 2008, it’s easy to see that the fire that ignited this glam metal act has long since fizzled out.
However, the 72-year-old guitarist of the band has different feelings about how he wants to be remembered. Yes, that’s right, Mick Mars, the riff master of metal, doesn’t like to rest on his laurels, and will make his boldest musical statement yet with the forthcoming release of his debut solo album.
For Mars it’s not just about selling a ton of tickets to a big ‘cash grab’ concert, because anyone can put on a clown mime show that does enough to distract and entertain the crowd, but what matters most to him is creating new music that is relevant, dangerous and thought provoking.
According to musician Paul Taylor, who worked with Mars on his solo album “for a good year and a half,” he said — “it’s definitely heavy — and it is very versatile. I feel really lucky that I got to sit and work with him and turn these things into songs. I think it’s going to blow some people away.”
“His riffs are insane…”
Sure, the Crue and each of its members are set to bank millions of dollars with their twice postponed The Stadium Tour in 2022, which saw the Vince Neil led shit show stink up mostly every single venue they performed at in North America, thanks mainly to complaints of sound from the bass guitar and bass drums being turned up too loud in the PA that created the biggest controversy. Was it all an attempt to sabotage and properly bury the faltering voice of the man affectionately known as Vince Meal?

Perhaps the one man who shouldn’t have to suffer, Mick Mars, is indeed being subjected to the madness of his insane band mate’s crazy behavior the most, such as Tommy Lee getting caught fake playing his drums with a backing track, something that Mars himself has long disavowed.
***UPDATE 9/2/2023: The guitar hero launched a lawsuit against his former band mates this past April, for ripping him off. Mars claims that everyone in the band but himself used backing tapes during The Stadium Tour and that Nikki Sixx was faking it 100% of the time, and that he is being forced out of the band plus denied his 25% stake.
Nikki Sixx has planned for an additional run of dates to be added to The Stadium Tour in 2023 and 2024, calling for gigs in Europe and then a second North American leg.
Sixx, Neil and Lee handed the legendary Mars his walking papers, after he delivered one of the most electrifying careers in rock music. His replacement, former Rob Zombie guitarist John 5, who is no slouch, but he does not possess the mutant-like greatness of the one and only Mick Mars.
UP TO 120 MORE SHOWS:
Another update suggested up to 120 more shows could be played on The Stadium Tour in 2023 and 2024 (with the USA/Canada getting a second run of shows).
MICK MARS DEBUT SOLO ALBUM IS READY
Did you know that the Crue almost fired Mick after the band’s epic “Shout At The Devil” album was released? Can anyone possibly imagine what the Crue would sound like without all of the amazing riffs played by Mick Mars? It’s like trying to picture a Ferrari racing down the road without an engine, isn’t it?
Will Mick be re-instated as a full-fledged member of the Crue once again, getting his rightful 25% stake in the band given back to him? Can he score a legal upset and launch a new version of the Crue? Or will he be forever ousted from the band he named and wrote all the best riffs for?
