Anonymous Detective: CHRIS CORNELL – “A Staged Suicide”

1. Too much blood.

Detective Joe: “From my experience in working death investigations, suicide’s very rarely yield any blood on the victim or around the corpse. The blood spatters indicate some foul play went down, but I would need to analyze the photos more closely to better determine what kind of injury this blood came from. It looks to be blunt force trauma, along with homicidal ligature strangulation.”

I dug deeper and learned Detective Joe was correct. Here is the official forensic explanation for why these blood spatters appeared at the scene of the Cornell death.

MEDIUM FORCE (VELOCITY) IMPACT SPATTER:

Produced with more energy or force than gravity.

The force of the impact causes the blood to break into smaller size spatters
relative to the amount of force.

This type of spatter is usually seen in blunt force, stabbings, and secondary
spatters.

Produced when the majority of larger drops of blood are broken into smaller
spatters with diameters of 2 – 4 mm.

The force associated with this type of spatter is greater than 25 ft per
second.

I also learned that according to IBTimes, “The blood that was found in the bathroom of Cornell’s hotel room, where he hanged himself with an exercise band, is not typically found in hanging cases.”

The source they referenced was a UCLA professor of pathology. Here is what he said:

“It’s very unlikely such large amount of blood found in a case of hanging,” Dinesh Rao, a forensic pathologist who has conducted more than 12,000 autopsies, told International Business Times in an email.”

2. 9 rib fractures.

Detective Joe: “This makes no sense to me. The only way it does make sense that the body can
sustain that kind of damage in the chest is either by high velocity impact, such as car crash or falling off a building… or someone did blunt force trauma with a kick or used the edge of furniture or a weapon.”

Remember I called the American Heart Association to verify this statistic, because Harvey Levin of TMZ stated it on his TV program last year. It turns out they could not verify the bogus number he grabbed out of the air to try and spin everyone away from the truth. The actual average for rib fractures for someone who is in their early fifties and athletic build is 2-3 rib fractures average per patient.

3. Door to hotel room #1136 should show more damage.

Detective Joe: “I worked as a beat cop for many years before becoming a detective and I recall how difficult it was to break down a hotel room door that was latched from inside. Just looking at the photographic evidence provided I can see that this door was not latched closed from the inside when it was kicked.”

Also, the locksmith I spoke with on the phone who created the tool used to remove the safety ‘swing latch’ and is a former cop with 28 years on the force, told me that the door frame, the lock, and the door itself would show much more damage if it had truly been kicked in as the bodyguard Martin Kirsten claims.

4. EMT observes ‘trauma to the back of the head’ in DOA pronouncement audio.

Detective Joe: “I had to listen to this audio a few times to make sure I understood everything. There is no doubt that Mr. Cornell suffered some injuries that are not consistent with suicide by hanging. After looking more closely at the other evidence, gap in time, mixed up stories between Mr. Cornell’s wife and the bodyguard, leads me to believe this is a staged suicide… whether it was an accident that turned deadly or a fight that broke out tand ended badly, foul play, for me, is on the table.”

5. EMT observes ‘cold to the touch all over’ after being on scene for 30 minutes at 1:30AM DOA call.

Detective Joe: “A corpse that weighs 180 pounds and is 6 foot in length takes roughly 2 hours after death to reach this temperature state, a full ‘head to toe cool down’ as we call it. Unless the body was found outside in the frigid cold or inside a cooler, that is the standard we work with. A much larger person takes even longer to cool down in the same scenario. Twice that time in some cases.”

This pushes the clock back to 11:30 PM the night before on May 17th, after the final SOUNDGARDEN gig, when the bodyguard Martin Kirsten and Chris Cornell arrive to room #1136. Based on the forensic evidence, the estimated time of death can be determined. This tells us the bodyguard was indeed lying when he said he broke down Chris’ door to try and save him at around midnight.

Chris Cornell was already dead.
