Oakland, CA quartet LYCUS is poised to release Chasms, intensely powerful and emotive doom metal that marks the band’s first full-length recording since 2013’s highly hailed Tempest, and has just premiered a new song, “Obsidian Eyes,” HERE.
Calling Chasms a “an utterly beautiful record that takes their mournful sound to new depths” and describing the song itself thusly—” Lycus takes you on a journey down into the darkness, leaving you with a feeling of being trapped within towering cavern walls, but not wanting to leave.”
Their first venture with new allies Relapse Records, Chasms is due out on January 15, 2016, and promises to be the new year’s heaviest offering.
