EXODUS confirmed a ‘tentative March 20th release date’ planned for the first of two new records they have been working on with returning vocalist Rob Dukes. Gary Holt, guitarist of the thrash metal vet — as well as Slayer — let the cat outta the bag on the tentative plans for that first album during a recent appearance on Robbs MetalWorks. In that below interview, he shared:
“It’s fucking awesome. It’ll be out next March, I think — March 20 — and it’s fucking awesome. I mean, it’s so awesome. We’re so proud of this record.”
Holt went on to explain that 80% of the follow-up to that next album is already done, with roughly eight songs written. However, some recording still remains for that second offering. As for the first onslaught of this two-pronged sonic assault, it is expected to feature ten songs. While essentially written and recorded in close proximity to each other, these albums will arrive independently of each other across separate respective touring cycles. As for his thoughts on this spring’s release, Holt went on to say:
“The new album is so killer, dude. And everybody says that — I know that — but, dude, this album’s so good. Me and Tom Hunting [Exodus drummer] call each other and [I tell him], when I listen to it, it makes me wanna cry, it’s so good. It’s that fucking good. We made something special.”
