Former CREED singer Scott Stapp has been performing at solo concerts around America, showing fans that he can still sing with the best of them, despite his bad reputation as another rock star on a downward spiral. Much like MÖTLEY CRÜE‘s Vince Neil, Stapp has been the butt of jokes around the rock industry for many years.
Now word coming out of the Crue’s camp is that Stapp is in the running to replace Neil as the new singer of the glam metal legends, believe it or not.

TMD was the first to report that Stapp is on a short list of singers, Nikki Sixx is now considering as Neil’s replacement.
Stapp has gone on the record that he was diagnosed as bipolar and finally knowing the truth helped him overcome some of his personal issues:
Scott: “I think the most important thing was getting the depression taken care of, finally. And then getting sober. I mean, that was the key. Self-medication and depression don’t go well together, as everyone knows, that played out in public for me… and it’s really changed my life. Healthy lifestyle, exercise and just committed to living life one day at a time has been good for me, and I’m really excited on how the newfound clarity and passion and drive has affected the music.”
Vince Neil’s battle versus alcoholism has plagued the Crue’s comeback, which all was known well before The Stadium Tour kicked off, after he made a drunk Cameo video for a fan, then fell off the stage during a solo concert last year, culminating with the Crue’s ex-limo driver confessing in a very public way that Vince is indeed drinking himself to death.

The thought of Vince Neil's non-functioning vocals trying to fill a venue that big. Sheer second hand embarrassment.
