Rapid City, South Dakota (USA) death core act MAN OF STRAW have self-released “Castle: Bravo” EP, featuring six low-produced tracks that still somehow possess the perfect energy and anger that a true disciple of metal likes to hear. The band is led by Jesse Scheitler on vocals and he is definitely from the Randy Blythe/LAMB OF GOD school of deadly cries. The energetic lineup behind him is filled out by Brian Ireland and S. Areno on guitars, along with Mitch Eller on bass and Dana Groth on drums. The disc is at its most brutalizing and downright chaotic on “Creature“, “Crutch of Thorns”, and “Poster Child”, where the group sets themselves apart from the huge sea of competition and join the ranks of the hottest upcoming new acts emerging today from the underground metal scene in America. Any fan of other new bands like ZEUS and CETHKYN will love what MAN OF STRAW is all about. With a little more time, they should develop into an even more intriguing musical unit. It will be interesting to see what they deliver one
day down the road with their debut full-length.
