The biggest name in pop music is going to make history as the first woman to appear in the band lineup of a METALLICA album. This is not a joke.
TMD has been tipped off today about Lady Gaga singing lead vocals on three new METALLICA songs, to be officially announced shortly by the band, along with the new album title, track list and the release date, which is believed to be slated for some time in 2023.
This will be METALLICA‘s eleventh studio album and first since Hardwired… to Self-Destruct in 2016.
Despite some technical malfunctions and frontman James Hetfield‘s mic accidentally being switched off, Metallica’s epic collaboration with Lady Gaga for a performance at the 2017 GRAMMYs was one of the coolest in recent memory, with the pair joining forces for a jamming rendition of “Moth Into Flame.”
Drummer Lars Ulrich has always been adamant about wanting to make Gaga an official fifth member of the legendary thrash metal group, not just an honorary member, but the real deal. Let’s face it, you can see the super fiery metal look in her eyes whenever she’s around the boys, right?
It all began to heat up when a METALLICA forum member posted the above recent photo of Lady Gaga and a mystery person believed to be Lars Ulrich standing outside an L.A. recording studio in 2019.
Lars even revealed a conversation he had with Lady Gaga. Apparently, the talented pop star told Lars that she had been a fan of metal music throughout her life and revealed her favorite Metallica song was actually ‘ Metal Militia ‘ from the band’s 1983 album ‘ Kill ‘Em All.’
