Sydney-based death-metal futurists GOLGOTHAN REMAINS have just unleashed a new track from their second album “Adorned In Ruin”, which is set for release on April 1st on LP, CD and cassette through Brilliant Emperor Records (AUS/NZ) and Sentient Ruin Laboratories (NA/EU).
Titled “Forgotten Lores of Hatred And Bloodshed”, this new track is now playing at Decibel Magazine, who commented “Adorned in Ruin, the second full-length from Australian outfit Golgothan Remains, is a thing of evil. On the surface, the New South Wales quartet share similarities to the likes of Incantation and Cruciamentum, but a deeper investigation reveals a more twisted approach to songwriting. On “Forgotten Lores of Hatred and Bloodshed,” the sixth track from Adorned in Ruin, Golgothan Remains establish a bleak landscape painted by lurching riffs and a general sense of gloom.”

Recorded and mixed by Aaron Worboys at Adversary Studios, and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege Studios, the follow-up to the band’s 2018 debut album “Perverse Offerings to the Void” sees Golgothan Remains reaching the pinnacle of contemporary death metal majesty, pushing the thresholds of the genre into a visionary new realm of apocalyptic atmospheres, otherworldly destruction and crushing dissonance. Pre-orders are now available via Brilliant Emperor Records and Sentient Ruin Laboratories.
If you missed, the first advance track “Veneration of Carnal Blasphemy” is still playing at this location.
Golgothan Remains have been pulverizing the world with their own death-metal mayhem since at least 2016, when their self-titled debut demo appeared in the Australian underground signaling them as forerunners of a new lineage of dark death-metal annihilation entirely their own.
In 2018, band self-released their first album “Perverse Offerings to the Void”, which was met with great critical acclaim. Recorded at Adversary Studios in Sydney and mastered in 2018 at Audiosiege by Brad Boatright (Altarage, Vastum), “Perverse Offerings to the Void” is both timeless and modern, merging the ageless brutality of bands like Incantation, Immolation, Necrovore, and Morbid Angel with the overpowering dissonance of Ulcerate, Dead Congregation, and Adversarial.
With sophomore album “Adorned In Ruin”, Golgothan Remains reach new depths of destruction and dissonance making it their best and most pulverizing album to date.
