Late PANTERA/DAMAGEPLAN/HELLYEAH drummer Vinnie Paul would have turned 58 today. The metal world still mourns the loss of the Abbott brothers, two of the nicest guys around, as all their friends will tell you.
Rocket of TMD comments:
“My wife was lucky to be able to hang out with Dime and Vinnie at their mom’s pad back in the day with other friends, and she said the Abbott’s were always so down to earth and hospitable. Vin loved talking about the Dallas Cowboys and she tried her best to not fall out, while trading shots with brother Dime, which was not so easy! I’ve never heard anyone say one negative thing about either of the Abbott brothers. Vin treated one of my wife’s friends so kindly and always invited him to bring his son along to hang out at his home here in Texas. He told my wife he got a call from Vin to come hang out shortly before he died, but for some reason he could not make it out to visit that day. Needless to say, he cried like a baby when he learned VP was gone.”
