Shocking news to report. MÖTLEY CRÜE lead vocalist, Vince Neil, has quit the band. An official statement from the legendary glam act is currently pending as they contact the organizers for their once highly anticipated comeback tour, so preparations can be made to effectively issue refunds to all ticket buyers.
MÖTLEY CRÜE were set to team up with DEF LEPPARD, POISON and JOAN JETT & THE BLACKHEARTS for “The Stadium Tour” this summer. The trek would have kicked off on June 18 in Jacksonville, Florida and was to include newly announced gigs in Kansas City, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Nashville, Cincinnati and Cleveland. The tour would have marked CRÜE‘s first live dates since wrapping its 2014/2015 farewell run. The band toured with POISON back in 2011 and DEF LEPPARD teamed up with POISON for a string of road dates in 2017 — but the now cancelled “comeback tour” marks the official end for The Crue.
At first, early word was that Vince Neil was secretly suffering from an acute form of Coronavirus, and this is what has forced them to pull the plug. However, a ‘Crue Insider’ now confirms that Neil is simply in the worst shape of his life and there’s no way to turn him back around.
Despite drummer Tommy Lee stating that the tour was still a “go” today via social media, the fact of the matter is the Crue’s comeback was ill fated the moment everyone in the band’s camp saw Vince Neil attempting to train while eating vast amounts of food and binge drinking his favorite beer at the same time.
“Vince Neil is his own worst enemy right now,” confessed a band insider to TMD. “Nobody wants to admit that he is a walking disaster, because there was a lot of money on the line with this comeback, and frankly, each band member could have used the financial boost, since the band has not been making any real money to speak of in over a decade. In the end, it was not the fact that he could not lose all of the weight, but Vince threw in the towel last night over fat jokes he read that were posted by Randy “Rocket” Cody of TheMetalDen.com site.”
THE METAL DEN (www.themetalden.com) is an online webzine that promotes hard rock and heavy metal music, offering regularly updated news content, interviews, CD/DVD reviews, remixes/mashups, and investigative reports. TMD’s owner and editor, Randy “Rocket” Cody, launched the webzine initially in February of 2005 via Myspace, while writing for leading heavy metal site metalunderground.com.

Cody’s also well known for posting successful hoax articles, like the one that fooled the United Kingdom site Metro in 2017 by sending a fake press release that claimed Lady Gaga was going to collaborate with METALLICA and sing on their next album to be released in 2019. The fake article was titled “Metallica ‘set to record album with Lady Gaga for release in 2019’.”
“This Cody character took the fat shaming with Vince to a whole new level, the anonymous source confirmed. “This dude deserves his own comedy special at this point, he is that good at what he does. I was talking to Vince on the phone today and in-between outbursts of yelling and crying he admitted Cody is his favorite rock journalist, and all he wants is for Cody to stop hitting him below the belt. He just wants to go back to his normal life and stop pretending he can sing heavy metal for fans any longer.”
