MY RUIN

 TMD Rocks!

The Metal Den.Com has learned from a source close to the band that getting behind a drum kit for Los Angeles-based hard rock act MY RUIN is not too dissimilar to 'beating the skins' in the semi-fictional heavy metal group SPINAL TAP.

This Is SPINAL TAP!

However, unlike the hilarious scene from Rob Reiner's classic 1984 rockumentary/mockumentary film where "spontaneous onstage combustion" kills their percussionist, The Metal Den.Com needs to make it absolutely clear that recently departed MY RUIN basher Marcelo Palomino is not dead.

But new replacement JD SALAS just might consider buying himself a wee bit more life insurance.

On paper, Miss B and Co. have certainly seen a slew of drumming bandmates run for the hills since 2005, including: Yael starting in '05, Jason Brunk in'05/'06, Matthieu LeChevalier '06/'07 and now Palomino '07/'08 (also having drummed in the band in '99/'00). The band source claims there to be 14 other drummers at various times in this period who were hired by the band to record and/or tour, only to soon find themselves clipped like a bad hairstyle. Guitarist/main songwriter Mick Murphy even reportedly laid down all drum parts for their 2005 album "The Brutal Language".

The source alleges that the continual 'revolving of doors' is due solely to the band's antagonistic lead vocalist, Tairrie B, and her inherent distrust of 'strangers'… or shall we say 'new bandmates'.

It's also being alleged by this source that Tairrie B. has a propensity for not making good on her word with certain industry professionals, citing a purported incident where she shafted the studio engineer behind the production of the group's "Brutal" album to the "turned all the way up to eleven" tune of $10,000 dollars!

A 2005 AntiMusic.com interview with MY RUIN only hints at their deep history of bandmate drama:

antiMusic: OK starting with the obvious. Since your last record, what happened to Meghan, Johnny and Yael?

Tairrie B: I really don't care to discuss them at this point in my life. They don't deserve to be discussed. Next question…..

MY RUIN has set a U.S. Release date of August 19th for their fifth studio album "Throat Full Of Heart".
