Evansville, Indiana's BLOOD TRIBE formed in 2003. The brutal act has been making an impressive name for themselves, having now played well over 300 shows and opened for the likes of VITAL REMAINS, CEPHALLIC CARNAGE and PUNGENT STENCH. The band has self-released two albums, including the most recent "1369: The Death and Dying Chapters". They have newly signed a record deal with Dark Harvest Records and plan to unleash their strongest studio effort in Spring/2009.

 The Metal Den’s Randy “Rocket” Cody has conducted 
an EXCLUSIVE new interview with Tom of Blood Tribe for TMD’s
ever loyal following of DEN HEADZ all across the globe!

Rocket: What first drew you to playing music?

Tom: Good question… listening to Kiss, Metallica, and Maiden.

Rocket: When exactly did you first start playing the guitar?

Tom: Around '91.

Rocket: Did you ever take any formal guitar lessons?

Tom: Yeah, the first year I did, that is about it.

Rocket: Who are some of your biggest playing influences of past and present?

Tom: King and Hanneman, Murray and Smith, Hammett and Hetfield

Rocket: What kind of guitar(s) are you playing live and in the studio?

Tom: Halo guitars.

Rocket: What kind of amp rig(s)?

Tom: 500 watt hybrid tube and solid state Randall t2 amps, with Randall oversized cabs, with 2 212's and one 15's with a bbe maximizer.

Rocket: You guys got signed recently and have released "1369:The Death And Dying Chapters", how has the fan reaction been so far on that?

Tom: Great, getting good reviews, getting airplay on sirius hard attack (request us)!!!!!!!!!!!and soon having our shit distrubuted around the states and overseas is really fucking cool.

Rocket: Are you guys working on new material yet? What can we expect with that?

 

Dark Harvest 

 

Tom: Yes, the new record is almost completely written And it is faster and heavier than last album. Due out maybe spring 2009 on Dark Harvest records.

Rocket: It's been another great year for metal. What are some of the new album releases this year that have impressed you the most?

Tom: White Chapel, Metallica and Brain Drill.

Rocket: Who are some of the local un-signed metal acts on your scene that you think are worth mentioning right now?

Tom: Exempt, Shatter The Odds, L.T.C., Deliver Us From Evil, Dunwich and Anthem For A Massacre.

Rocket: What are some of the upcoming shows for Blood Tribe?

Tom: A small east coast tour in October sharing the stage with Graves of Valor on Relapse records.
