Arlington, Texas thrash/groove metal act TEJASMOSIS have released their debut EP “Diatribe” in 2013 via The Metal Den Records. The listener is going to be rocked back in their chair by one venomous snake-bite of a musical experience that will have you rattling in your boots no doubt. The rhythm from this unit is brutally powerful and the songwriting, with its obvious PANTERA influence proudly in place, knocks it out of the ballpark on each cut, like some devastating left hook you never saw coming or a cinder block being dropped on your head out of the sky.
The twin guitar attack of Tommy Richeson and Jeff Miller (also vocals), is a revelation along with the seriously furious as all hell lead singing done by Johnny O. These guys have the same hunger of an early CFH, so it’s fun to hear. It makes you feel twenty years old all over again. Brad Postlewate on drums and Shaun Fernandez on bass lock down – with a total down home conviction – the thrashing frenzy going on throughout the four tracks. The single “Delusionoid” is totally slamming and never let’s up. Let me say that the guitar soloing shreds here as well.
“1 Away” and other hard hitters “Mega” and “The Phunk” will have fans wanting more from this band and you will certainly hear their MEGADETH influence too If they can continue to improve upon their quality of production and gutsy songwriting choices, they should really do well with future releases. “Diatribe” is a solid start for a band that displays a lot of heart and intensity.
