ROCKET REVIEW: JUNGLE ROT – “Kill On Command” (CD)

JUNGLE ROT, led by vocalist/guitarist Dave Matrise, has released pure sonic mayhem on the metal masses in 2011 with their latest studio offering, the seriously ultra-heavy Kill On Command, which offers up ten positively brutal as a murder scene cuts – mixed by Chris Wasco and mastered by former DEATH guitarist James Murphy. The band’s label, Victory Records, needs to be commended… cause they just let them do what they do… and oh God how my ears love it. I cannot stand it when a label makes a band that I like turn out some mainstream sounding stuff – boy cries with heavy shit…it don’t mix to me. So fucking stop it. Jungle Rot wastes no time in getting the death groove into your head with the opener “Their Finest Hour”. The first part of it is the best, just instrumental and mean as sin. The double bass drum assault comes at you like a crazed psycho – non-stop. How can you not love that? With other bad ass cuts like “Rise Up And Revolt”, “Push Come To Shove” and “I Predict A Riot”, these dudes mean business. My headbanging started to make me dizzy as I reached the end. No kidding. This shit is that rocking and heavy metal rolling. The listener will be treated to other punishing tracks like “No Mercy” and “Life Negated”, utter face planters, that will leave you like a junky in the end wanting more of the punishment. No doubt, this fierce musical act has unleashed easily their best album to date with Kill On Command.
