Georgia sludge metallers SONS OF TONATIUH are currently streaming their new track “Adam & Evil”, which comes off the band’s self-titled debut full-length released via Michigan’s Hyodrophonic Records. Engineered by Jay Matheson (Kylesa, Black Tusk) at the legendary Jam Room Studio in Columbia, South Carolina, the eight-track long player features the artwork of Rodney Githens and is available on CD as well as blue and gold-colored wax.

Conceived on April 25, 2008 in a ditch by the side of a dirt road in Atlanta, and featuring current and past members of Leechmilk, Fell A Victim, Noble Rust and Whiskey Shit Vomit, the concept behind SOT relies heavily on recognizing where we as a human race came from, what it means to be immortal, and how important it is to understand the history of the native world.
The band — guitarist/vocalist Dan Caycedo, bassist Mike Tunno, guitarist/vocalist Darby Wilson and drummer Tim Genius — will kick off another string of live dates later next week on their ongoing mission to crush the masses. 2011 tour dates are to be announced in the coming weeks.

“A merciless onslaught of down-tuned misanthropic riffs pepper the band’s sludgy and powerful new self-titled…” — BrooklynVegan
“Killer album of sludgy goodness, this comes recommended for those who dig Eyehategod, Iron Monkey, Sourvein, and their ilk, but are burnt out on copy cat bands. These guys bring something different to the table with each song, and for that, I commend them.” — Fuzzrock.com
“There must be something special in the water (or beer) in Georgia because that state has become quite a hotbed for heavy music these days and Sons of Tonatiuh are certainly no exception. All eight songs on this album are enjoyable for fans of doom, crust, or just intense and heavy music.” — PunkVinyl
