CHIMAIRA guitarist Matt DeVries will be leaving the band’s lineup starting September 22nd in order to tend to his girlfriend and the upcoming birth of their baby. In turn, the group have tapped Emil Werstler of DAATH to fill in for him for the remainder of the European tour. DeVries will rejoin the band on October 29th, when the the group kick off their U.S. run with Trivium, Whitechapel and Dirge Within. DeVries had the following to add:
“This is going to be one of the happiest moments of my life and I want to thank the fans for understanding my absence. Emil is one of the most talented guitarists I have ever jammed with and I am fully confident he will do a fantastic job filling in. I’ll be back on stage riffing in a few weeks.”
