Zakk Wylde To Meet With OZZY, Will He Save His Job?

July 12, 2009

In what is turning out to be the biggest heavy metal soap opera in recent memory, TMD has now learned that Zakk Wylde just might still have a job playing lead guitar for the OZZY OSBOURNE band after all. According to the bearded one’s wife, Barbaranne Wylde, maybe there still is No Rest for the Wicked!

o

Here’s a post from July 12th, directly off her twitter page:

“Z meeting with Ozzy tomorrow. All’s good…we’re family!”

Wylde (born Jeffrey Phillip Wielandt ) was plucked out of literal obscurity in 1987, while working at a New Jersey gas station, to replace Jake E Lee in the solo band fronted by legendary Ex-BLACK SABBATH vocalist John “Ozzy“ Osbourne.

Is the sun finally going down on Oz and Zakk’s literal father/son relationship?

Only time will tell…

Zakk is a drunk but he aint washed up dude! He needs to jump off the Ozzy train and do his own thing. I wouldnt mind seeing him working full time with BLS. Plus it seems like Ozzy wants to go a different direction, hes wanted to for a while. Jump off Zakk!

Ozzy is out of his mind first suing Tony, and now firing Zakk. No offense but John5 may sound different from what Ozzy is known for, but he ain’t no shredder. Ozzy needs a shredder by his side. Precedent has been set and Zakk has been nothing but loyal to Ozzy throughout EVERYTHING. I think Zakk deserves more credit than that. Ozzy needs to quit worrying about making cash and start writing his own material. He listens to the people around him too much. I think Zakk, Rex Brown, and Vinnie Paul need to start a damn band !

zakk is the best thing Ozzy has. Big mistake on his part. I would love to see Zakk spend all his time with black Label.

Ozzy firing Zakk??? Come on Ozzy, I have been a fan from day one, but i have to say…over the last decade the albums have gone pretty soft in the lyrical dept, and just havent had the punch of albums past. The only redeeming factor has been zakks guitar work. Zakk has been there to salvage the remnents of bad ideas, (including ozzy writting songs with dave grohl WTF) the problem is not that Ozzy is sounding like BLS, its that Ozzy is not Ozzy anymore, Zakk has never been anything but an asset, how do you turn your back on a friend, and person who has been there thru 20 years of reinvention and continues to be the workhorse. Ozzy, if you are dissillusioned with the last ten years, look inward, not for a scapegoat.

Ozzy i’ve been a fan like millions of others since the first time i heard Blizzard Of Oz and Diary Of A Madman. For a whole generation of rock fans and musicians your first two records after Black Sabbath were the main influence. Your voice was fine, but what really stood out was the music and the ground breaking sound and playing from Randy Rhoads. I’m in my 40′s now and became a Ph.D clinical psychologist, lets say i know something about observing behavior. Jake E. Lee and Zakk Wylde saved your career not the other way around. Ozzy your erratic and irrational decisions of your drugged-off mind are finally beginning to show. First the changing of the bass and drums tracks from Blizzard and Diary, then the random unexplicable firing of band members and now Zakk sounds like Black Label? Suing Black Sabbath? The only thing that still sounds like Black Label is your mind. The only thing on your mind is money and the “guidance” of your high pay whore Mrs. Osbourne, who has put up with your antics in the name of managing your career and keeping the money in the family for her sons. The Prince of Darkness..I don’t know but for sure The King Of Assholes

    Ozzy,
You need to find a serious classical musician who also is influenced by Rock & Roll so you can pick up where “Diary of a Madman” left off.
    Cheers,
    John Fox.
