Orlando, Florida (USA) metallic hardcore act CETHKYN has self-released a seven song collection of hard rockers for all of the frustrated and pissed off young adults around the globe, starting off with a more than impressive two minute long groove-oriented intro. This is followed next by track two’s PANTERA and BIOHAZARD influenced “Don’t Kill The Messenger”, served up nice and mean by vocalist Matt Decker, like a fist punching through a wall in the back of your own head. He screams with a raging passion: “You failed to live, you failed to decide the desire that makes us unique!”
The band itself backing him cranks it up to an even sicker level with “Timeline”, “This Is A Dose” and my personal favorite, the MUDVAYNE-sounding “You Look So Familiar”, certainly heavy as concrete, in its spiraling out of control sonic blitz. This is a band that you will be hearing more from, hopefully, as I see them developing into quite a powerful group – as long as they stay together (which most new bands are never able to do), and can work with a name producer that will help take their next production to an even more brutal place for an even bigger slam around the pit.
