MÖTLEY CRÜE Producer Recalls Vince Neil Struggling To Record Vocals For “Shout At The Devil” Album

Troubled MÖTLEY CRÜE singer, Vince Neil, 61, has become notorious for his shaky singing over the past couple of years while out touring the USA with his solo band.

At one point during a concert last May, believe it or not, Neil actually quit halfway during a Crue classic, saying “My voice is gone!”

“The legendary glam vocalist called it quits when the band began to play “Girls Girls Girls.” Neil came in with only just one verse before finally throwing in the towel and admitting his vocals were completely shot. He apologized to fans and walked off stage, leaving the rest of his band (and audience) to complete the song, only singing the chorus.” – Chicago Sun Times

There’s only a few months remaining before Neil and Crue embark on their long awaited, twice postponed comeback tour, and fans are starting to worry that Neil is not going to be in good enough shape to perform at the upcoming gigs for the Stadium Tour.

With ticket prices ranging from $109 to $4,631 for the “Motley Crue Wild Side Ultimate Package, fans of the band are starting to become vocal themselves about how bad Vince Neil looks and sounds currently in 2022. After all, Crue’s manager Allen Kovac guaranteed that Neil and the Crue would be “in shape” for their comeback, remember?

To make matters even worse, Neil next literally fell off the stage at Monsters On The Mountain fest near the end of 2021, and concern for the rotund singer’s health has developed into the biggest story in rock n roll music by far. Ex-Crue limo driver, Al Bowman, even went on the record to state that Vince Neil is drinking himself to death.

After recently ditching rehab twice, Neil is said to be ignoring all the warnings from friends like Ozzy Osbourne and continues to party harder than ever, recently purchasing a $10,000 bottle of booze while out eating at a restaurant.

Shaky vocals, however, has always been an issue for Neil, according to someone who has worked closely with the band during their early days. During an appearance on Full in Bloom show, past Crue album producer Tom Werman looked back on working with Motley Crue on 1983’s “Shout at the Devil.”

Here’s exactly what he said:

Is there any kind of moment that stands out more than the other from the ‘Shout at the Devil’ sessions? Is there something you think of from time to time?

“I remember struggling with Vince. [Laughs] He would get in there and try his hardest, but sometimes he just didn’t produce too many keepers because he had stayed up all night partying.

“I’m not paying $300 to see Vince Neil butcher all his songs. I’ve seen Motley Crue, Poison, Def Leppard all in concert. Vince Neil was awful ten years ago. He’s even worse now. I would’ve liked to see Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, though.”
