A lifelong fan of the late heavy metal frontman Ozzy Osbourne, named Chip Cady, 71 a Birmingham, England native, never expected to one day be gifted from beyond the grave by the man he idolized.
Cady was rummaging through his late mom’s estate recently and came across a box that was simply labeled “For Sharon”.
“I faintly recall my older brother Jerry working at one time in Ozzy’s stage production crew as a local roadie for hire when Ozzy and Randy Rhoads played England the very first time together,” Cady said.
“So I opened it and found 88 vintage 1980 Ozzy concert T-shirts, along with a handwritten letter Ozzy wrote to his wife Sharon, telling her how much he loved her.”
“I will read only part of it because the other parts get too personal,” said Cady. “Here, this one is my favorite. At one point Ozzy says: “I need you to mail out these shirts to my mother to give out to the local orphanage in Birmingham. I also need to tell you that I think you are the most wonderful woman that has ever lived. I love you dearly, Sharon. I know you won’t try to ever sell me out like I am one of these damn shirts for sale. Jesus wants me to be a good steward even when I am bad. Sincerely, Ozzy.”
