FEAR FACTORY’s new single “Roboticist” has officially premiered online. This track’s online debut coincides with a big sci-fi movie moment, going live exactly at 2:14am EST on August 29th. In the fictional ‘Terminator‘ film universe —a franchise which has heavily inspired by the industrial metal band over the years — that date and time in the year 1997 marked the time that Skynet became self-aware, leading to the catastrophic events that played out in the films.
Fear Factory have had this song in their pocket for sometime now, having previously streamed an early instrumental take of it back in April of 2023. The stakes are of course higher for this song now, as it finds the band officially moving forward with their first studio output since the bitter departure of former vocalist Burton C. Bell. His replacement Milo Silvestro was recruited back in 2023, with the band having toured the world over with him since.
