Ronnie James Dio’s wife Wendy Dio has lashed out at bands releasing “tribute” albums to the late vocalist without donating proceeds to the Stand Up And Shout cancer fund set up in his name.
In a new statement, Wendy says: “I have seen lately a lot of bands releasing “so-called” Dio tribute CDs. Please do not be fooled by thinking that they are doing this for the Fund, the money is going into their pockets and not to the Fund. I find this totally disgraceful and upsetting that they are trying to make money off Ronnie’s death.”
