Harder Beat music magazine now joins the growing list of hard rock mags that have ceased operations in recent months – including Metal Edge & Metal Maniacs. Harder Beat covered the Dallas/Ft Worth, Texas area for the past 16 years. Spawned in the early ’90 by Linda Hollar, Harder Beat has remained true to the local music scene – SUPPORTING ROCK N ROLL & it’s various mutations: punk/rock/death/prog/metal/goth/glam.
Many local bands that have graced the pages of Harder Beat have gone onto get signed with Metal Blade, Atlantic, WEA, Nuclear Assault, and more. Harder Beat will also be terminating its online site as well.

Former Harder Beat writer Marissa recently posted the following statement:
“Believe it or not, this is the end of the trail for the Harder Beat. The last issue is online www.harderbeat.com – I am in shock and frankly most of you will be too when you dont have a Harder Beat to grab from the news stands. Linda has poured her blood sweat and tears into the HB for 16 years and in my opinion, she is Dallas Royalty. Whether you are a fan or not- Linda & the Harder Beat did make a difference to so many in the Dallas Local scene. Live your life with no regrets…”
