MetalSucks.net site has just posted on February 13th the most compelling article on the potential firing of troubled Crue lead singer Vince Neil that has hit the web yet. They have claimed to come up with the top 8 replacement singers for Neil, and believe it or not, these geniuses want to see Disney pop diva Miley Cyrus front the Crue. This is not a joke. You thought Scott Stapp was a bad idea?
“MetalSucks says the time is now and we were even considerate enough to suggest eight vocalists who could replace Vince Neil in Mötley Crüe.”
“If you know Miley Cyrus for more than her time as Disney Channel pop star Hannah Montana, you know the singer has dabbled relatively extensively in the world of covers, particularly in the hard rock vein. Miley can belt out songs from Metallica, the Cranberries, Hole, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and pretty much whatever she likes, so why couldn’t she front Mötley? She’s got more stage moves than Neil too.”

Classic Metal Show podcast even weighed in on the rumor that Nikki Sixx has been trying to shake things up in Crue’s lineup with a “double move” that not only saw him purportedly fire Mick Mars but also, he apparently wants to kick out Vince Neil again for lack of effort, just like when the band replaced Neil with John Corabi back in the early 90s and released one of their most critically acclaimed albums.

There is no doubt that the Crue is in big trouble with Neil behind the microphone, as he just got busted lip syncing at a Crue concert before they are even scheduled to go overseas to complete their long-awaited World Tour. Word coming out of the Crue’s camp is that Sixx is desperate to stop the bleeding, and will most likely make a move to fire Neil sooner rather than later.
Fans will recall ex-Crue limo driver Al Bowman said that in recent years Neil is drinking himself to death, and despite failed rehab attempts, the rocker carries on buying $10,000 bottles of booze and overeating backstage.
Neil was seen using a teleprompter to help remember how to sing the lyrics to classic Crue songs during the first 36 North American tour dates of the glam act’s twice-postponed comeback. He had fallen off the stage in a drunken stupor at a solo gig leading up to this point, plus quit singing during the middle of a song saying to the crowd “My voice is gone!”
Where there is smoke there’s fire. It seems constant in-fighting has been going on between Tommy Lee and Vince Neil, going back over 20 years, culminating in a knock down drag out fight at the Stadium Tours final rehearsal that saw Neil tackle his drummer for repeatedly calling the singer “Vince Meal” over and over again.
