Originally, it was widely reported by dozens of American radio stations that Lady Gaga and Heavy Metal legends METALLICA were set to begin recording a collaborative studio album planned for the band’s 12th studio effort slated initially to be released in 2019.
Metallica has since confirmed the title and release date of its forthcoming 12th studio album: “72 Seasons” will be available April 14, 2023 via the band’s own Blackened Recordings. While two moderately received singles have been released already “Lux Aeterna” and “Screaming Suicide” TMD has been tipped off that drummer Lars Ulrich is making good on his promise to secretly put Gaga in the studio for real with the thrash giants.
METALLICA INVITE LADY GAGA TO JOIN AS “CO-LEAD SINGER”
“Metallica and Lady Gaga fans are about to rock out together. According to Kirk Hammett who was indeed correct for once, the metal legends are recording a new song with Lady Gaga. She will not appear on any other song TMD is being told but one that is tentatively titled “Coco Butter Blues”. It will be a bonus track made available only in a limited Japan edition of the album.
The wire-haired guitarist first let the news leak in a now deleted message while responding to a fan on social media. When asked if the possibility existed of the pop singer joining the band in studio after their on-stage Grammy performance in 2017, Hammett replied, “Gaga is gonna kill em all in the studio when she sings for us.” The message also hinted the band’s latest effort could be titled The White Album.
