Legendary Guitarist Jeff Beck Dead At 78

Very few rock guitarists of Jeff Beck’s caliber come along very often. Sad news to report. The legendary guitar hero, widely considered one of the greatest of all time, has passed away on 1/10 at the age of 78.

The Daily Beast confirmed the sad news

Jeff Beck, the blues-steeped guitar hero who shaped the Yardbirds’ iconic sound, pioneered jazz-rock, and influenced generations of musicians, died Tuesday, his representative confirmed on social media. He was 78.

The Grammy-winning English rocker’s death was attributed to bacterial meningitis, which he “suddenly” contracted, according to a statement. “His family ask for privacy while they process this tremendous loss,” it added.

Jeff Beck’s brilliant playing on OZZY’s latest solo album released in 2022, titled “Patient Number 9”, is Beck the Great on full display as his guitar blazes it up on the effort’s title track.
