Former OZZY lead axe man has updated his twitter today with the following statement:
“BLS is touring Brazil and South America in December 2009. Just have to get rid of these (fuckin’) blood clots first!”
Guitar great Zakk Wylde and BLACK LABEL SOCIETY recently played in Clinton, Montana (USA) at Ryan Creek Amphitheater, rocking through a set of BLS favorites, including “Suicide Messiah” and “Stillborn”. For those who have been living under a rock as of late, ole braided viking beard was recently replaced in Ozzy’s lineup by Gus G. of FIREWIND.
Zakk called into radio program 101.5 KFLY in Portland, Oregon to issue his feelings on the whole matter:
“Where I come from, (shit like this that happens) I swear to Christ we snap muthafuckers necks and beat the living fuck out of people!”
The guitarist visited the hospital the other night (August 19th) in between BLS gigs, to deal with apparent “blood clots”, for which he is under current medical supervision. A blood clot is a thickened mass in the blood formed by tiny substances called platelets. Clots form to stop bleeding, such as at the site of cut. But clots should not form when blood is moving through the body; when clots begin to form inside blood vessels or when blood has a tendency to clot too much, serious health problems can occur.
If detected and controlled with proper medications, blood clots can be safely managed. However, let it be known that if the clots become dislodged and travel to an artery, they can cause nearly instant death.
