Returning from a five-week European tour earlier this month the guys in WARBRINGER are enjoying their first break in schedule in quite some time due to a relentless touring and recording schedule that has seen the band release two albums and criss-cross the US, Canada and Europe nine times in eighteen months.
With three weeks of respite the band has decided to replace bassist Ben Bennett with original bass player Andy Laux. Andy recorded the group’s debut, War Without End, but was unable to join his band mates for any of the touring due to him still being in high school. Now with his studies complete Andy has been focusing on sound engineering and even built his own home garage studio but will rejoin the guys for future touring and recording.
Andy had this to say, “After parting ways with Warbringer a year-and-a-half ago I never would have seen this coming but circumstances have left the band in need of someone to handle bass duties. When I was asked to fill the position how could I refuse? The members of Warbringer are my good friends and (literally) my family so the choice was obvious, I look forward to catching up with the fans, seeing some familiar faces, but most of all thrashing every venue this side of the solar system!”
Guitarist, and older brother, John Laux added, “I’m happy to have my brother back in the band and to share some of the experiences I’ve been able to witness firsthand. The band has decided to part with bassist Ben Bennett due to a few serious personal and offstage issues we’ve encountered on the road. We thank him for all his contributions to the band, the album and the touring and we all wish him the best of luck with any future endeavors.”
Warbringer will be playing a couple shows in Mexico August 28th and 29th, before embarking on the Obituary, Goatwhore, Krisiun, The Berzerker tour starting September 3rd.
