Dime is the main inspiration behind the start of The Metal Den! It’s hard to believe that it’s coming up on 5 years that the greatest heavy metal guitarist of them all was shot and killed on stage – the night of Dec 8, 2004 – while performing with his new band DAMAGEPLAN. Darrell lost his life, along with the shooter and three other great men who tried desperately to help save the guitar legend: Jeff “Mayhem” Thompson, Nathan Bray, and Erin Halk.
Dimebag was truly a one of a kind guitar hero and is missed today more than ever.
His incredible music with PANTERA from Cowboys From Hell in 1990 all the way to 2000’s all-time epic Reinventing The Steel, permanently and profoundly left a mark on all those that listened to his uncanny
guitar playing abilities.
Today would have been Dime’s 43rd birthday. So the next beer bottle you raise to your lips
today (or shot glass filled with some of the HEAVY SHIT) better be raised in HONOR of this man!
Getcha pull! And long live the great memory and music of Darrell Lance Abbott of Arlington, Texas!!

In our hearts, He lives
Keep on going
