Troubled MÖTLEY CRÜE singer, Vince Neil turned 61 years old on Tuesday, and rumors continue to swirl that a third “Stadium Tour” postponement will eventually be announced, forcing fans to wait until 2023 to see the boys make their highly anticipated return to the stage.
That being said, Nikki Sixx has already gone on the record to say that MÖTLEY CRÜE is still on track to finally launch its long-awaited reunion this year. The bassist previously addressed the status of “The Stadium Tour” while answering a fan question on Twitter. Last December while responding to a fan who wrote, “I’m hopefully going to see The Crue in Houston Tx Aug 2022!”, Sixx said, “We 100% plan on touring in 2022. See ya at the show.” He also took to Twitter again in the past couple days to confirm that the show will go on.
However, fans have seen two postponements due to Covid-19 happen and are worried because of the Omicron variant surging across the USA with a scary high infection rate that it will happen again this year. That being said, a new Vince Neil solo gig booked during the summer is really what is freaking everyone out now.
Believe it or not, Vince is booked to play a solo concert on July 16th, which is my birthday. You can’t make this stuff up!
The Neil solo show booking indeed gets one to wondering if all is well in Crue land after all. A lot of money is riding on this comeback, well over 100 million in advance ticket sales alone. Sixx has been handling a delicate situation with Neil for the past year, having issued an ultimatum for the singer to lose at least 50 pounds of weight within one month of the first scheduled comeback show or face being replaced with John Corabi, the Crue’s ex-singer.
By using the cloak of Covid-19 as the reason for a third postponement, it is looking like the truth is that the Crue simply is not ready to perform at these summer concerts, and the new backup plan all along to replace Neil with Corabi can be executed, along with scrapping Neil’s vocals on the final Crue album and bringing Crabs in to clean up the mess in the studio, once and for all.
This is why Sixx would look to push back the dates to 2023, because at the end of the day, Motley is his band, and he is only protecting his baby. Remember that last year the Crue did not announce the second postponement until nearly the last minute in May.
Live Nation holds exclusive rights to the headliner of any event they are involved in. By Neil booking this solo gig in the middle of the Crue’s purported comeback tour run it sends up red flags big time.
There is talk coming from within Crue’s camp that constant “in fighting” between Vince Neil and Tommy Lee has been making their comeback more difficult than expected, and a lot of it has to do with the fact that Tommy beat his problem with the bottle… and Vince has not.
Apparently, the bitter feuding between Vince and Tommy has been going on for many years, according to Sixx.
Here are Sixx’s words:
“Oh, god. I mean, we used to drink a lot. Actually, Tommy and Vince used to get in the most scraps together. I was always kind of trying to stop it or talk sense into everybody. But you know, back when we lived up the street from the Whisky a Go Go, we used to go to the club on the punk night dressed like a cross between the New York Dolls and I don’t know what, maybe early Aerosmith, just come stumbling down the street and get the same thing as I got in school, ‘What’s up?…’ You know, whatever the insult would be.
And we used to enjoy getting in fights. It became kind of fun. I was thinking about it recently, and you know what’s a drag? First of all, I shouldn’t be fighting at 62. But I also thought you can’t do that anymore. You can’t get in a fight, can’t get in a scuffle. Can’t do anything like that. I guess that’s probably a good thing. But I feel pretty fortunate I got to be raised at a time where you could just be a little bit more of a troublemaker.”
It seems that Sixx is even now willing to look past his beef with Corabi to avoid the current trainwreck he is facing in the form of Vince Neil behind the microphone. Word is that things are getting pretty desperate because of the time crunch they are under. The sad reality is that Neil’s downward spiral compounded with the ugly fights with Tommy Lee going down could indeed spell the end for the Neil and Crue marriage.

Keep in mind, in 2010 Ticketmaster merged with Live Nation under the name Live Nation Entertainment.
According to Blabbermouth.net: Neil’s appearance at the Red River Valley Fair is raising eyebrows with CRÜE fans who are concerned that the band’s “The Stadium Tour” will once again be postponed after it was originally scheduled to take place in the summer of 2020 but ended up being pushed back to 2021, and then to 2022, due to the coronavirus crisis. As it stands, Vince is scheduled to perform with MÖTLEY CRÜE one day before the Red River Valley Fair, on July 15, in Cincinnati, Ohio at Great American Ball Park and again one day after the West Fargo gig, on July 17, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at American Family Field.
