The Metal Den has unearthed a historic bootleg recording of a live 1969 concert performance by late blues rock guitar hero Stevie Ray Vaughan which is titled “1969 Dallas, TX Cole Ave.” This is considered to be the earliest known SRV live recording ever. Check it out HERE via Rocket’s Soundcloud channel or down below. The track-list is:
01. Uptempo Blues
02. Slow Blues
03. Funky Tune
Legendary rock journalist, Randy “Rocket” Cody, comments:
“Late great blues rock hero, Stevie Ray Vaughan, was something special, even in this rare live bootleg recording from the start of his career, fans are treated to some serious jamming by one of the all-time best guitar players who ever lived. I was lucky enough to have seen SRV perform live on David Letterman’s 8th Anniversary Special in 1990 at The Universal Amphitheatre (which has since been demolished) right before he died tragically in a helicopter crash that same year. Not enough of the younger generation today knows much about this blues music icon, for he is not really played on American FM radio much any longer. It’s a damn shame, because this dude is and always will be truly the best of the best!”
