Weight of the False Self, the new studio album from Connecticut metal/hardcore outfit HATEBREED, sold 5,250 copies in the United Sates during its first week of release.
The tally was not enough to land the record on the Billboard 200, the first time the group has failed to appear on said chart since their 1997 debut, Satisfaction Is The Death of Desire. In fact, this is the first time since the aforementioned release that a new Hatebreed LP hasn’t bowed in the Top 50.
The album debuted at No. 48 on the Top Album Sales chart, No. 28 on the Top Current Album Sales chart, No. 12 on the Hard Rock Albums chart, No. 50 on the Top Rock Albums chart, and No. 48 on the Independent Albums chart.
Hatebreed’s previous album, 2016’s The Concrete Confessional, landed at No. 25 on the Billboard 200 after selling 16,500 copies in its debut week. Going back further, their The Divinity of Purpose (2013) album sold 17,400 copies in its first week and bowed at No. 20 on the Billboard 200, Hatebreed’s highest chart debut to date.
