Season of Mist has announced the signing of FUATH, the atmospheric black metal offshoot of Saor’s Andy Marshall.
After starting out as a one-off project and releasing the debut record I (2016), the Scottish musician “decided to turn FUATH into a serious project.” The second full length, II is set for release in the first half of 2021 via the Underground Activists imprint label.
Andy Marshall comments: “It’s an honour working with Season of Mist once again and I can’t wait to unleash the new album!”
Translated as “hatred” in Gaelic, FUATH, takes inspiration from arguably black metal’s most fertile and explosive period — the early to mid-1990s — FUATH channels the unrelenting tenor and iciness of forebears BURZUM, DARKTHRONE and MAYHEM. Originally slated as a one-off project after the release of 2016’s ‘I’, Marshall has decided to turn FUATH into a serious project. Early 2021 will see the release of the band’s second album, ‘II’, via Season of Mist’s Underground Activists sub-label.
