OLD MAN GLOOM – Debut New Song

OLD MAN GLOOM have unveiled their new song “EMF” from their forthcoming album “Seminar VIII: Light Of Meaning“. A May 22nd release date has been slated for that album via Profound Lore Records. The record marks the band’s first with Stephen Brodsky (Cave In, Mutoid Man, etc.) taking over for the late Caleb Scofield, who passed away in a car accident back in March of 2018.

Old Man Gloom worked with Matt Bayles (Mastodon, Isis), Randall Dunn (Sunn O))), Wolves In The Throne Room) and Converge‘s Kurt Ballou during the recording and mixing process. Pre-orders for the six-song outing are available now at this location.

Old Man Gloom is a post-hardcore/doom metal/sludge metal band originally formed in Santa Fe, New Mexico, United States, but now based in Massachusetts. Old Man Gloom is: Aaron Turner (also of Isis): lead vocals, guitar Santos Montano (also of Forensics, Zozobra): drums Nate Newton (also of Converge, Doomriders): guitar, vocals Caleb Scofield (also of Cave In, Zozobra): bass guitar, vocals In 2001, a year after the release of Meditations in B, the band released two albums simultaneously: Seminar II and Seminar III. For these records, Luke Scarola joined to use electronics. On Seminar II, Steven Brodsky of Cave In wrote the lyrics for one song, and Agnostic Blunt (aka Jay Randall of Agoraphobic Nosebleed) contributed on electronics. On August 24, 2004, their most recent album, Christmas, was released.
