MAX & IGGOR – To Tour North America

The brotherly duo of ex-SEPULTURA frontman/guitarist Max Cavalera and drummer Iggor Cavalera have confirmed they plan to revisit the works of their early band. Their forthcoming venture looks to have them out celebrating Sepultura‘s 1989 release “Beneath The Remains” and its 1991 follow-up “Arise” on the road in North America later in the year. Discussing their plans with That Metal Interview, Max stated of what’s to come:

“We played [Sepultura‘s] ‘Roots‘ for a while, and last year, we did a lot of ‘Beneath The Remains‘ and ‘Arise‘ together, and that was great. People love it, fans love it, especially in Europe and South America. Some of the South American shows are on YouTube; you can see [footage from] Mexico and Chile, and the crowd is singing every song.

Those records are so iconic; they’re masterpieces of that era. So we’re gonna do more of that. We’re gonna bring it to America, probably in the summer, with probably another cool band, have a cool package. So that’s pretty much what I’m doing with Igor right now — just paying tribute to our old stuff.”

The news follows the recent reveal of a deluxe edition of “Beneath The Remains” which is headed for an April 03rd release on Rhino/Atlantic. That album has newly been remastered for this upcoming edition and also sports a number of alternate mixes, instrumentals and live tracks. You can find the full details for that here.
