DOWN have been lining up 25th anniversary shows for their debut album “NOLA” this year, complete with a returning Kirk Windstein. The band have thus far announced several European festival appearances as part of their plans and have recently confirmed the first U.S. date for that trek. Windstein himself revealed the band’s plans in a recently published chat with Revolver. Windstein commented of that:
“We’re gonna do some festivals in Europe and Psycho Las Vegas and of course a New Orleans show.”
The group’s return won’t see the group returning to a full-time project however, as Windstein told the publication:
“…Down is back to what it started out as, which is a 100 percent complete side project. Everyone’s other bands are the priority and that’s that. I had a great talk with Phil the other day — he doesn’t even have a cell phone — but I talked with him for about 45 minutes or an hour, and we both agree that it’s a side band. But as far as I know, anything Down does, I’m included.”
Current “NOLA” 25th anniversary shows run as follows:
06/17-20 Copenhagen, DEN – Copenhell (tickets)
06/20 Dessel, BEL – Graspop Metal Meeting (tickets)
06/19-21 Clisson, FRA – Hellfest (tickets)
08/14-16 Las Vegas, NV – Psycho Las Vegas
