KORN – “Munky” To Begin Sitting Out Shows

With the birth of his new child imminent, Korn guitarist James “Munky” Shaffer will be sitting out the band’s August 06th-11th dates with JR Bareis of Spoken, ex-Islander, etc. fame tapped to fill-in. Bareis of course has a longstanding relationship with Korn guitarist Brian “Head” Welch, with the two still currently members of Love And Death.

Shaffer commented of the situation:

“Since our family is waiting any day now for the birth of our daughter, I won’t be performing starting on Tuesday August 6th through Sunday August 11th .I’ll be back in Detroit. I’m going to miss you all very much on those dates. But, you’re in great hands with our close friend and brother @jrbareis95 who is filling in for me…and of course the rest of @korn_official who will carry the load.

Korn are currently out on the road ahead of the September 13th release of their new album “The Nothing“. Their current touring finds them co-headlining a run with Alice In Chains that finds Underoath and more opening. The remaining dates for that trek include:
