A new report from RÚV has word that SLAYER have filed suit against the now apparent former organizers of the annual ‘Secret Solstice Festival‘, Solstice Productions. The band allege that they have been shorted $134,000 USD for their headlining appearance at the festival in Reykjavik, Iceland last June.
The matter is expected to be addressed by the city council next week with the city itself having ties to the festival. According to the report, Slayer aren’t the only ones who haven’t been paid for their past performance/work at the festival. Other professionals have also come forward with similar claims.
Though the details get a bit sketchy in translation, from them on, it appears that 20% of Slayer‘s income from their appearance was retained by the festival’s organizers for apparent tax purposes. The contract for the festival is said to have since been awarded to a different company.
