Heavy hitters DROID have returned to the studio in early 2009 and tentatively plan to unleash a new CD release later this year via Emotional Syphon Records. It has also been recently announced by the band that Duke (Ex-The Deadlights) has left DROID and in his place they have acquired new bassist Ryan Burchfield.
The group’s new website is a social networking website where users can communicate with the band and other DROID fans. The site features a chat room, profiles, forum, groups, and more.
James Eason, vocalist of Droid, states: “We want to thank all of the DROID fans for their support and want you to know we are working hard to get back out on the road and give you the best DROID record we can create.”
