ROTTING CHRIST – Premiere New Song

A slamming new single from ROTTING CHRIST’s forthcoming album “The Heretics” has landed online with “Fire, God And Fear” now available to stream.

Warning: Those music fans who are sensitive to Satanic content, you must understand that this band is not Christian metal.

ROTTING CHRIST was formed in 1987 with the original line-up Sakis (vocals, guitar), Jim (bass), Themis (drums) incorporating a roaring mixture of death metal and grind (a style that was at its height in the rest of the world at that time except, of course, Greece). Early on ROTTING CHRIST produced two informal recordings (“Decline’s Return” and ‘Leprosy Of Death”) which basically consist of rehearsals and are not considered official by the band.

The band’s frontman Sakis Tolis had the following to say of the new track:

“Dear metal brothers around! After almost three years of silence and countless hours of inner search, I can proudly announce, on behalf of the band, our fresh artistic worry that is represented in ‘Fire, God And Fear‘, taken from the upcoming opus ‘The Heretics‘. A song that definitely won’t create a clear opinion on how the new album will sound like, but shows the heretic and atmospheric approach we have chosen for creation. I hope you will enjoy our new album and until we cross paths mentally… Non Serviam brothers and sisters!”

Let it be noted that ROTTING CHRIST were particularly young (around 16 years old). In 1988 the band recorded their first split 7” EP with Yhorypansi (aka Sound Pollution) which includes 9 of their songs! Naturally the style is grindcore as is the lyrical side (for example “Asthmatic Apoplexy”, “Myxomycetes Attack”, “Thyrotoxicosis”, “Artificial Hypertrophy”).
