METALLICA have announced that they will be releasing their November 03rd, 2018 acoustic live performance at the Nob Hill Masonic Auditorium in San Francisco, CA on February 01st. The effort will be titled “Helping Hands…Live & Acoustic At The Masonic” and will released both digitally and on limited edition colored vinyl. The performance was recorded by Jason Gossman with Greg Fidelman (Slipknot, Slayer) being brought on to mix the audio.
The set itself served as the inaugural ‘Helping Hands Benefit Concert‘ which raised funds for Metallica‘s All Within My Handscharity. Between the concert and a charity auction that was held as part of it, over $1.3 million was raised. The band have since earmarked those funds to go towards Feeding America and the American Association of Community Colleges via their aforementioned charity.
The setlist for the concert itself ran as follows:
“Disposable Heroes”
“When A Blind Man Cries” (Deep Purple cover)
“The Unforgiven”
“Please Don’t Judas Me” (Nazareth cover)
“Turn The Page” (Bob Seger cover)
“Bleeding Me”
“Veteran Of The Psychic Wars” (Blue Öyster Cult cover)
“Nothing Else Matters”
“All Within My Hands”
