FORGED IN BLACK – New EP Announced

FORGED IN BLACK have announced their new EP Sinner Sanctorum.

Having achieved such spectacular results working with legendary producer Chris Tsangarides (Thin Lizzy, Judas Priest, Exodus, Overkill, Girlschool, Anvil and so many more) on their last release – Fear Reflecting Fear – the band decided not to mess with a winning team and once again entrusted their songs to the man responsible for the sound on stone cold classics like Thunder And Lightning and Painkiller.

The Tsangarides/Forged In Black partnership has again served up real magic, with Sinner Sanctorum towering over all previous Forged In Black efforts, even Fear Reflecting Fear. Sharper, more focused, more accomplished and infinitely more powerful than anything they have released before, Sinner Sanctorum dares to stand tall beside the illustrious releases of Chris Tsangarides past work. No metal heart can remain unmoved by songs such as “Crimson Echoes” or “Pay The Price”.

..As musicians they clearly know exactly what they’re about, and there certainly weren’t many guitar duos over the whole weekend who could out-shred Andy Songhurst and Rob Chaplin. Top that off with a super-tight rhythm section and a frontman with the pipes to do the music justice and you have a recipe for something truly memorable.

From what I could tell on this brief first experience of Merciless Fail they seem to have an awful lot going for them, and they were certainly one of the best New Blood bands of the whole weekend”
– Ian Hawkins, Cack Blabbath

“Forged In Black sounds like a forgotten classic, complete with its maiden-esque guitars and crowd-friendly chorus. The band may quote Testament and Iron Maiden as influences but there is something more sinister in their sound, recalling the likes of Venom and Pentagram.” ”
“8/10”
– Alan Hicks, Rock Matrix

“Armed with a set of catchy and well constructed songs Merciless Fail impress today, ‘Forged in black’ being a particular highlight, complete with its gigantic and doom laden Sabbath-esque main riff.”
