DAMAGEPLAN – “Breathing New Life” In Hell Remix!

TMD’s Randy “Rocket” Cody shares a remix of DAMAGEPLAN’s “Breathing New Life” song, with alternate effects and vocals by Rocket, not Patrick Lachman. Listen below. Rocket comments:

“Patrick Lachman quit Damageplan. After Dime was shot dead on the stage in 2004, he could have at the very least sung on the yet to be released 2nd Damageplan album that Vinnie Paul fully intends to release one day in honor of his late brother. Out of respect, you know? But what happened? Lachman instead skipped outta Texas real quick after the deadly rampage and hasn’t been heard from since.”

“So I wanted to throw my hat in the ring, in honor of brother Darrell Abbott, and this so happens to be my favorite song on the debut album. I took a stab, if you will, at my own take on this heavy metal classic. This version is me, Dime, Vinnie and Bobzilla… and except for a few different twists on the original I kept it very close to the first one. Although it is faster (120 BPM) and my vocals are at a slightly higher range at times than Lachman could ever sing. My wife says I sound like a combination in the middle of him and Anselmo in “The Kid’s” prime when he could still hit the high notes and shatter a glass across the street. To me, that’s the main ingredient missing from Patrick’s version: a darker, more hardcore edge.”

“And for the record, this remix is my official submission to replace Patrick Lachman for a chance to sing in his place on the unfinished 2nd Damageplan album.

If any other metal vocalist wants to submit a DP remix with your vox on it, feel free to email it to me. I would love to hear it! If you’re any good, you could also win a rocking ‘publicity package’ that will get you featured here on TMD’s official site and beyond!!
email: [email protected].”
