Rocket of TMD issues an official statement about the closure of TMD, effective start of April/2017.
“Den Headz, it is with a heavy heart that today I am announcing my retirement from
THE METAL DEN. Unfortunately, after a 12 year run and so many awesome experiences, the truth of the matter is my business is no longer profitable and I don’t have the nece$$ary budget to keep it going any longer. At the start of April, my ‘domain/hosting’ services will expire and that will be when everyone notices the lights have finally gone out at TMD. I’m not mad or sad, it was truly a great run while it did last, and a lot longer than many of the other sites/magazines,etc.. in the metal industry that have come and gone over the years. I made a lot of new friends, and even more enemies. Haha! The memories will remain with me for the rest of my lifetime. Hell, I am gonna be 47 on July 16th this year, so it’s time to focus on other things that are as important to me like my screenwriting and producing/engineering my own music projects too. I still plan to put out some ‘surprises’ down the road so it’s not like I am going to just disappear off the face of earth! LOL And Dime’s ‘333 Tribute Album’ will still be released on July 4th. I certainly want to thank the late Darrell Abbott for his goddamn electric inspiration over the years.
The cool thing for my most diehard fans is that I will continue to operate TMD blogspot, a non-hosted site which is FREE for me to maintain – and so definitely every now and then I will post something new for shits n giggles. As well, from time to time maybe I will post a rarity from my personal collection on YouTube… or just offer a simple update on how my life is going in retirement from heavy metal promotions. Let me be straight up, for the past 12 years I have clocked in every day at TMD, yet it never seemed like work EVER. I always felt like I was doing something I loved so much and the passion I always have had for metal made me push even harder to throwdown the coolest site possible. Time went by so fast like the snap of a finger. Man, I had a fucking blast!!
I walk away a winner, having met my wife of nearly 9 years through my work at TMD! Hope is the best woman a man could ever fall in love with and I am forever a lucky dude for having hooked up with this hot Texas blonde!!
In this final month at TMD, I will make some other statements before it is officially over but today I wanted to let y’all know what is definitely going to happen.
