THE METAL DEN – Rocket Issues New Year Update: 2017

The best metal interviews, reviews and rarities you can find online, not to forget all the awesome breaking news stories that only I can deliver!! When I first created TMD twelve years ago on MySpace I never thought I would still be doing it all these years later. Frankly, I did not expect to live to see the age of forty!! I am forty six now, turning forty seven this year on July 16th, and it’s amazing how many people tell me I look only 25 or 30. I feel really blessed. Mainly because I lived a very crazy life for a long time – using hard drugs and liquor as a crutch to get by, until I was lucky enough to meet my wife Hope. She was TMD’s number one fan. We have been married now for almost 9 years! How cool is that?



I believe the music keeps me young, along with all of my awesome Den Headz that support me and I have met and interacted with so much over the years, including all my fans on social sites like Twitter and Facebook. My goal is to give you the metal fanatic the coolest experience possible when you visit my site. The official dot com for TMD was launched in 2006, and after 10 years, my partner who helped me with the site, Eddie Karam, has moved on in 2016. So I wanted to give it a fresh coat of paint and here we are!!

I think most metal sites are really boring, generic and pretty much suck when it comes to looking cool. To me, that was one of the reasons I was always so into metal as a kid was the look of everything, you know? Eddie from Iron Maiden rocked my mind! I am a big colors guy. I hate sites that are just black and white! So hopefully the new TMD site design I am using now keeps your eyeballs on the front page for many years to come. As for the music itself, well I pride myself on bringing the true metal underground experience beyond all the mainstream names like METALLICA. I think it is crucial to help promote “unsigned” talent and so that is why I recently launched another site strictly to feature the HOTTEST damn acts that just need a spotlight so labels and booking agents can discover them. The site is TheMetalDen.net and I am going to thrown down 6 ‘unsigned’ Battle of Bands online contests this year… so there’s gonna be a lot of killer new bands to check out no doubt!!”
