BATTLECROSS recently returned home from the band’s first trip to the southern hemisphere. The Detroit shredders performed live in South America with Killswitch Engage, plus a show in Mexico City with none other than Black Label Society.
The career first will be followed by the band’s second go around with the fine folks at Audiohammer studios in Florida. Before tracking begins, however, Battlecross will be on tour throughout North America with Machine Head. The tour, which also features Children of Bodom and Epica, begins on October 4th in Denver, CO.
Guitarist Tony Asta comments on recording: “We are very pleased to announce our return to Audiohammer this winter to record the next album. Warm sunny Florida has absolutely nothing to do with our decision to go back! We are honored to work with producers Mark Lewis and Eyal Levi once again, as their guidance and expertise has really helped us grow. I am very enthusiastic about the new material so far and, although we’re still in the early stages the creative process, it’s proving to be a little less painful than before. It will kick your ass.”
The band also offered up the following statement regarding recent South American tour dates:
“It’s unreal how many different countries we’ve been to this year! We’ve done Europe twice and we finally hit Mexico City and Brazil this summer! We knew Mexico would be big for Battlecross because we see tons of fans from Mexico City posting on facebook, but we still weren’t prepared for how well the fan response would be when we opened for Black Label.
“For never playing that part of the world, word sure spreads quickly because the fans were rabid in both Mexico and Brazil! Singing along, chanting, circle pits and hair whips— they were relentless! Probably the best shows we’ve ever played. We’re thankful for Black Label and Killswitch Engage taking us down there and everyone at Liberation MC, Eyescream, The Agency Group and more. It was an experience to remember and thankfully we got some killer footage to show you! We can’t wait to return to south of the border!”
