Stereogum has calls The Divination of Antiquity, “maybe the best black metal album of 2014.” Dead Rhetoric notes, “the best bands have a sound all their own, and Winterfylleth’s is unmistakable.” The band is set to share the cover of Terrorizer Magazine’s November issue, showing the increased awareness and anticipation of the band globally. On announcement of the album’s release date early last month, vocalist/guitarist Chris Naughton shared, “the new album represents a real step forward for the band. I think that we poured over the material much more meticulously in the making of this album and I think that shows through in the finished article. The new songs really focus on the more melodic, passionate and expansive end of our spectrum this time around. We have also taken the opportunity to shine light into a few dark corners of our songwriting including some slower, doomier elements. We recorded with Chris Fielding again, but this time at his newly established Skyhammer Studios and I think that’s really given it a boost. His vision and a fresh recording environment has helped us to hone the essence of what a Winterfylleth record can be.”

Since their formation in 2007, England’s Winterfylleth has conjured moods and emotions that range from vicious and violent to melodic and elegant. Winterfylleth is vocalist/guitarist Chris Naughton, drummer Simon Lucas, bassist Nick Wallwork, and guitarist Mark Wood. Winterfylleth will join Behemoth, Decapitated, and Grand Magus for a run of dates December 9 thru 13. The performances will find the band on stages in London, Glasgow, Dublin, Birmingham, and Manchester.
